PingFederate and Thales HSMs
PingFederate™ is a full-featured federation server that provides identity management, web single sign-on and API security for customers, partners, and employees. Users can securely access the applications they require with a single identity using any device. Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 requires the storage and processing of all keys and certificates on a certified cryptographic module. To meet this requirement, PingFederate is engineered and tested with the standard-compliant Thales Luna Hardware Security Module (HSM). Thales Luna HSM is the most trusted general purpose HSM on the market in part because the HSM’s “keys-in-hardware” approach protects the entire key lifecycle within the FIPS 140-2 validated confines of the Luna HSM appliance. This method ensures that keys, and therefore sensitive data, always benefit from both the physical and logical protections of the Thales Luna HSM. PingFederate is now also integrated with Thales Data Protection on Demand service.
